Don’t Cry for me Dear Korina

She’s a woman in love; if you hurt her man you also break her heart. That’s Korina, she’s crying not because she lost her chance to become the next  “first lady” after her senator boyfriend abjured his presidential plan and ambition.Aling Koring wept because she could not take what Conrado de Quiros, an Inquirer columist said to the current crop of presidential candidates as “too hungry for power.” Although de Quiros qualified his statement as not meant for Roxas alone. But soon to be Mrs. Mar Roxas insisted the columnist need to apologize for including the senator who just withdrew from the presidential race.

Now madam Koring is all head up and can proclaim to the whole world that  her propective spouse is one who looks more on his party and country’s interest rather than his personal ambition. He is no power hungry at all, right madam Koring? In fact even Dinky Soliman who used to call on the president to exercise supreme sacrifice to step down from office after the “hello Graci” scandal had shaken the entire country was herself impressed  with the senator. Nonetheless madam Koring is also happy with Mar Roxas’s supreme sacrifice to save the Liberal Party from disintegration and pursue the candidacy of Noynoy Aquino who will still assent to it. Now they can really concentrate on their wedding which was scheduled on October 23.

Mar Roxas’s supreme sacrifice to quit the presidential race  is no simple thing; he had already spent a lot of time, money, and effort going around the country to campaign for presidency just to waste it like that? Even madam Koring had to sacrifice her broadcasting career just to join her dear Mar campaigning around the country. It hurts!

Yes it hurts, but Mr. Palengke still had to yield for the greater interest of the majority- his party and his country. Another reason why Senator Mar Roxas decided to give way to Noynoy Aquino is his great respect to tita Cory Aquino the former president;  mother of Kris and Noynoy. On the other hand will this give us an idea of what could have happened when the selection of LP’s standard bearer for the presidency at one point in time in history was a tossup between the late Senator Gerry Roxas and Ninoy Aquino had not Martial Law overtaken the course of events?

But Roxas’s supreme sacrifice is not wasted in vain. The public praised and appreciated his act of self-denial. In his prayer book  (according to Korina) he repeatedly asked the Lord “is this what you really want me to do?” Mar Roxas’s love of his country is indisputable; he wants to cure the country’s maladies that have long stifled our progress. Maybe God has other plans for Mar Roxas, and Korina knows that well.

Will Mar Roxas be Noynoy’s Aquino running mate? Korina has no idea but she believes in “miracle one at a time.”

  1. He he. I’m sure there’s a twinge of.. aww shucks I’m not gonna be first lady anymore …tears.

Kris rules..hehe. But I think with all what’s been happening. I will tip my hats off to the Aquino siblings, especially ballsy. Noynoy calls her ate and she is the steady hand.

  2. After watching Ballsy talked lengthily about Noynoy and siblings’ attitude toward the brother’s still unannounced candidacy, I was impressed and mesmerized by this down-to-earth woman.

I’m NO to Villar, Chiz, Noli, Loren nor Erap.

  4. The more I fell in love with Mar, hehe. Koring, please don’t get jealous. It’s Mar’s attitude as a politician which I admire and love. Like Noynoy he has a clean image. I know he could make it to the presidency had he not gave way to Noynoy.

His dad might have done the same when the toss for the LP’s standard bearer was between him and Ninoy at “one point in time in history.”

That’s why Mer, what Mar wants to hear from his dad is that the latter would be proud to call him son.

To aling Koring, magpakasal muna kayo. Mar can be a good and able Vice-president of this country. Who knows, being loyal to his country and party as you said Colegiala girl, Mar might be Noynoy’s “strenght” as a president.

  5. Ate Chi, korek ho kayo diyan. Hahaha.

Roxas.

    Mabuhay kayo Koring and Mar!

  6. i really admire the step that Mr Palengke have made. and i really wish all the best to their wedding and marriage life. I know he can be a great vice president and i can’t wait for him to be the next next president with Korina as the first lady.

Good luck also to Noynoy, kailangan ko na din mag register as a voter, hehee!!

  13. Ngayon lang din po ako nag-log in. Sige po pasyal ako doon para makipagrally.

  14. afraid you’re right. mar is not ever who he says he is. it’s not his fault though, my friend carie keeps saying…
